Although not designated an L series lens this performs exceptionally.
CA is non existent (even wide open) and sharpness is superb.
Bear in mind that most lenses will see a drop off when you get beyond f11 due to internal refraction.
The EF-S 60 is comparable, so deciding between the two is more down to camera body (crop factor) and subject distance. The EF 100 would put you a little further away from the subject for the same magnification. The EF100 is also a good portrait lens for those on FF or 1.3x crop body, although focus speed is a jittery.
